Fonera2 & oscam (conditional access module for dvb) ???

Postby jeroensky » Tue Apr 17, 2012 9:46 pm

Hi all.

I have two devices at home.
Fonera2.0n, weall knowwhat that is.
And a Dreambox DM8000 with OSCAM softcam.(sat tuner/pvr with conditional access modile.)

On the OSCAM (open source conditional access module) i see a version with fonera2 in the name.

EEh, is fonera2 our used fon hotspot/router, or is it also a DVB-PVR/tuner?

http://download.oscam.to/index.php?&direction=0&order=mod&directory=mips-fonera2.

It looks like they make some firmware for DVB devices and they also made it working on a Fonera (2.0g?). Perhaps it supports adding a DVB tuner through USB or something, though I can't really see that as being useful... The Fonera CPU is really not fast enough to do any real video recording or encoding...

I'm pretty sure that this is not anything official from Fon, so if you want to know more, you'll have to ask the oscam folks about this...

OMG, i really think our fonera2 router can decrypt digital video broadcasting, awesome! :D
I read that it runs on: fonera open-wrt kamikaze. http://downloads.openwrt.org/kamikaze/8.09.2/atheros/ (do we still have fon function with this os?)
Now i suppose our used firmware is not kamikaze. But it's open-wrt based isn't it?

See this posting http://oscam.to/wbb3/index.php?page=Thread&postID=112109 about decrypting satellite/cable/terrestrial TV on a fonera2 router. :ugeek:

I just discover http://oscam.to/wbb3/index.php?page=Board&boardID=10 that oscam runs on more routers, like tp-link, Asus, fritzbox. OMG!

Request to build a fonera2.0n application. (.tar.gz)

This because oscam-fonera2 is a oscam version that can run on a fonera2.0n.
But i'm not really good in building fonera2.0n install/application packages.
So if someone here has a fonera2.0n with dev firmware (uploading of applications allowed) then it would be awesome if someone can try to build a application to let oscam run(with usb smartcardreader).
Then DVB S2-C-T (satellite, cable, terrestrial tuners/settopboxes/pvr's) can connect to the fonera to decrypt the encrypted radio & tv channels. And so the fonera as central point for the smartcard you have, and all different devices in the house for watching DVB tv (or DAB radio) use fonera for decryption.

here the posting on oscam board.http://oscam.to/wbb3/index.php?page=Thread&postID=112158

I don't see any "openwrt" folder on their "trac"
which part of their software is used/installed on a router?

hey SkynetBBS.
I see a reply of a OSCAm moderator I'll quote:
"i'ts possible compile an jffs2 image where you can have full access to flash filesystem."

Now, if i look here http://downloads.openwrt.org/kamikaze/8.09.2/atheros/, then i see version for root or combined, and a 128K and 64K version.

Sorry that i don't have the skills for creating this.
But i think the kamikaze OS can be used to build a application installer that can be used on original fonera developer firmware. (developer version, because then you got application upload support and ssh/telnet)

An application install file looks like this: XXXXXX2n_YYY.tar.gz
where X = applicationname and Y is version number.
It's a target ball file. Keep in mind, internal storage is about 1.75MB, more is possible when user uses usb external storage device.
But i guess you already know that.

OScam admin is awesome!.
He's trying to build a image for use on fonera2.0n. http://oscam.to/wbb3/index.php?page=Thread&postID=112208#post112208
But trying, because he has no fonera2.0n himself. He wrote that it will support the smargo and pcsc usb cardreaders.

Smargo USB cardreader: Image

PC/SC usb cardreader: Image

Anyone here with one of these usb smartcard readers + fonera2.0n + tuner with oscam softcam? Then you can test it.

Update: these two smartcardreaders are not for the router(fonera2.0n) version of oscam, these are only supported by pc's(maybe also settopboxes).
For fonera2.0n usage, get a omnikey.

See image in new posting of me below. (not the handbag scam posting)

Il have to check that webif they provided
But they mentioned only one card reader is supported so that one is also required to find the drivers for on openwrt or other website

The oscam webif, is build in oscam, it uses the webserver ofthe device. (only on a port that you can configure in oscam)
It looks like this:

The oscam mod inform about two types ofcardreaders. But now i see a posting, that those two (pictures above in previous posting) aresupported on computers (pc).
On the router it has only support for a omnikey (don't know if all versions or specific version is supported).
A omneykey (what is supported on the oscam version for on a fonera2.0n looks like this:

Their is a test build. Great!
You can download firmware (open-wrt and fonera mix) and oscam in this oscam forumposting: http://oscam.to/wbb3/index.php?page=Thread&postID=112310#post112310
Many thanks to oscam moderator linch.
