linux partition

Postby issicus » Sat Jul 23, 2011 3:31 am

hi,

can I use a linux swap rather then RAW as described here http://wiki.fon.com/wiki/FormatExt3.

when using ext2fsd
partition 1 - linux swap ("online,linux swap")
partition 2 - RAW ("stopped")

I cant figure out how to make partition 2 online.

thanks.

I've tried this and didn't have a problem.
Did you format the 2nd partition (this step in the wiki "mkfs.ext3 /dev/sda2") and are you able to access it on the Fonera?
With ext2fsd on my PC it doesn't try to mount the swap partition, just partition 2, which is the behaviour I'd expect.
Also I set the Fonera to ignore partition1 as it kept trying to mount it by default(in http://fonera/luci/fon_devices/fon_hd) and created a little script to run on startup to run the swapon command, there's probably a better way to do this.
