Hi, I got a good suggestion to place a sticky for FGF invite requests.

Before you request an invite visit https://shop.fon.com/FonShop/shop/ and check your in a country FON ships to. If your not please don't ask, it would just be a waste. However they may add to the list form time to time so check back later.

Then you need to state the following so someone can invite you:

Name
Country
Preferred Language
Email address.

You also need to be aware that Fon will only send you one router. If you ask for a 2nd one they will not allow the invite to be sent.

Finally please accept the invite promptly, if you leave it too long then it will be withdrawn, People only get a limited number of invites and no-one wants to see them wasted on someone who hasn't "claimed" it. (I'm currently down to 3 invites left and have 4 still unclaimed, if they are not claimed by the end of next week I'll cancel them so I can offer more invites).

Folks should also consider; you are only given a certain number of invitations to give away. If you send an invitation, and that person does not use it, you still lose the invitation. You can't "earn" additional ones because the system does not credit you with having sucessfully given them away. Please make sure you send invites only to people who have promised to use it.

Do not send invites directly to people posting their email addresses in this, or any list. Send them a PM to ask if they are still needing one. Don't set up the invite in advance, and then just let them know about it. They can only accept one of the invites, so they should only receive one.

Finally, (Ross, if you read this, please check on this) the email address you invite should not allready be a registered Fonero or Alien. The recipient of the invite is expected to register at the time the get the invite, and the invite system only checks when they register!

I agree with all you said, I even suggest we only give invites to people who participate in FON boards, usually people that only want the cheap router for their personal use come here and register just to ask invitations, they should at least know more about the community and participate.

I have invites to give away. If you are interested AND in a country that FON ships too AND will definetly use the invite, then PM me. First 10 (or so) to PM me with your name, email, country, and preferred language (all are required to do the invite), will get one. I'll update this post when I'm down to the last few invites (I'll be keeping some for friends and relatives that may want a La Fonera).

[EDIT] When you PM me, PLEASE Include the following or I can't do the invite:

NAME (can be just your first name)
EMAIL (if you don't like giving it out, set up an account on endjunk.com)
COUNTRY
LANGUAGE

I'm still waiting for explanations about the current FgF status, yesterday I tested and
sent one envitation to a friend, with or without envitation the fonera cost the same

In the mail that FON sent the only discount is in the fontenna, it should cost only 1.99
more, is this correct ?
