Can anyone tell me why I am classed as an Alien? I subscribe to BTFON and have an active BT Home Hub.

Your an Alien as you do not have a Fon branded WiFi access point. You have a BT|Fon one which is not the same thing and does not have the same roaming privileges.

If you have a Fon WiFi AP then you have unlimited WiFi minutes on other Fon-Spots and on BT|Fon home hot-spots, but you do not have any free BT Open-zone minutes.

If you have a BT Hub, you're a BT Fonero and you have a account a http://www.btfon.com. You can roam with that account at all FON Spots. But if you also have a account at http://www.fon.com, this one will remain Alien.

At FON Spots, you have to chose the login for BT Foneros.

is there a separate landing page for BTfon users? I tried logining whilst in Hong Kong and it would not recognise my BTfon id.

If there is a separate landing page what is the "default" address?

Chris

looks more complex than that...

the fon captive portal clearly has a "for BT foneros Click Here"...
eg BT does not trust FON to handle their customer authentications... (no trust between fon& btfon radius server)
there is no such different login for "Neuf Wifi Fon" users... and the Comstar/Zon deal has still not been brought to live as well
Normally the hongkong should be fonspots (and not the japanese Livedoor_fon stuff) and thus have a "BT foneros click Here" button...

Both btfon & neufwififon accept aliens now (and have to pay)... let's hope neufwifi will once start allowing any fon on their turf?
It would be nice if fon would get real traction...
