I have been doing alot of reading up on FON, on thier website and external sources too... before actually deciding to go ahead and share my wifi.
I agree, in terms of service, there is alot to be desired... customer support is slow. The website text contradicts itself in many places, far too many things cock up. But, this seems like a really new project, and one with great potential. One that I would love to see work!... and needless to say, if people like Google and Skype invest millions in it... you know it's a good thing.
Nothing is born pefect, just like a child... you need to nurcher, teach, invest time in it for it to grow and develop to a stage where it can stand on it's own two feet against the world.
I think adopting the same philosophy here would be healthy
ps. the FON homepage says "FON (beta)"
