I would like to place a FON hotspot under the roof of a friend's house but there is no way to get a cable from the cellar, where his existing router is, to the roof.
So I would like to establish la Fonera's WAN-connection through WDS to his existing WLAN.
Does la Fonera support WDS?
I guess this is not supported by la Fonera's firmware, but wouldn't that be an interesting function?
Most potential Linuses already have a running WLAN-router, so they have little use of the private SSID. Couldn't the 2-SSID-ability be used to connect as a WDS-slave to an existing WLAN instead?
If la Fonera supported this, lot's of people could place their routers more advantageous, so that outdoor coverage improves.
