Normally you don't have to go on http://statut.francofon.fr/

Once you have FON Gardian in your iGoogle, edit the setting and add yours fonera IDs.
To find ID, go on http://maps.fon.com , find your fonera, and get the ID.
like this:

Thanks! I'm told it works great in iGoogle. I'm having trouble getting it to work in netvibes, it just get's stuck on "loading".

For Netvibes:
Do you have edit the setting and set Fonera ID one by line ?
Don't pay attention of Routernames (it's just for my debug)

Do you use the fonera MAC address ?
Because it's not this ID.

Procedure to find the ID:
    go to: http://maps.fon.com
    find your fonera
    click on it
move the cursor on "Take a look at this FON Social Router's personalized page"
look the Fonera ID in the status bar of your browser (like the picture in the previous post)

in Netvibes, edit the settings and put one ID by line.

Another way to get your ID is to log into the fon site and then "Configure your router". The id appears in the address bar as:

Edit: I'm still not getting anything in iGoogle though, just the Fon logo and nothing else. Anybody else getting that?

what's your routerid?

Aïe ! It's may be the "Whaou" Fx :)
I remove IE7 from my computer. Too many problems :(

I will add a tooltip on icons and put an explanation in the help
Before that:
Green : Fonera off
Green starts : Fonera on
Red : ID not found or too recent.

Like others, I'm also having issues getting the addin to correctly display my Fon router's name (just showing up as Fonera_0). Is this a 'feature' of Fonera hotspots and the plugin, or should it show the correct FON_ name, like in the example screenshots on the developer's site?

Useful plugin, aside from that - like the webpage integration for the little offline/online indicator (the http://statut.francofon.fr/ facility).

o rly...

... I hadn't even thought of doing that! :D RTFM TIEM! It's not immediately obvious though, sure if you rollover the name it lights up and prompts you to click it, but the Edit icon to its right doesn't allow you to change its name, something I'd call a slight design oversight (though maybe it's a limitation of the Netvibes UWA). Anyway, problem solved. :D
